What is this rug made of?

Wool blended with viscose — the wool carries the structure and durability, the viscose adds the light-catching sheen through the pattern. It is hand-tufted, not machine-made — the pile is punched into a cotton backing by hand and then hand-carved to bring the pattern into relief.

Vacuum on low suction, no beater bar. Blot spills at once. Professional dry-clean only — the viscose must not be wet-washed. Rotate the rug every few months so it wears evenly, and use a rug pad — it stops slipping and takes the crush out of foot traffic.
